The City of Los Angeles planning department is partnering with Compass Blueprint and Fregonese Associates to make the Sunset Junction MTA stop a more usable multi-model transit hub.
By using urban design strategies and modeling, the City hopes to create more connections to other transportation such as bus lines and bikes to accommodate for a planned transit plaza near the intersection of Sunset and Santa Monica Boulevards. They are also seeking to explore the potential for mixed use and transit oriented development around the transit plaza area.
Goals:
- Create full streetscape design the that recognizes the multi-modal character of the intersection
- Develop designs for a potential transit plaza at the station
- Explore possibilities of better linking the Redline stations
- Investigate potential developments and neighborhood improvements in the area
