The Dallas Arts District is a 17-block concentration of arts institutions in close proximity to downtown Dallas. The area has increasingly been a focus for new development due to its strategic location and quality amenities. Leading the development of an initial strategic plan for the Dallas Arts District, Fregonese Associates created a set of actions in the areas of land use, parking, and design

To initiate the process, Fregonese Associates gathered input from a large and diverse group of arts district stakeholders through hands-on workshops and work sessions. The project addressed the main stakeholder goals of creating a safe, walkable, lively arts district with dense, mixed-use development, increased cooperation between institutions, and adequate parking.

FA and team members modeled future transportation, parking, and access needs to give stakeholders an idea of how the Arts District might look under different future scenarios. FA and project team members created a comprehensive Arts District Strategic Assessment and Action Plan that will provide the foundation and tools for future strategic decision-making.
