Calle Guanajuato Creek Restoration Project

Ashland, Oregon

This plan involved designing and planning the restoration of Ashland Creek, which runs through the heart of downtown Ashland. Calle Guanajuato is an urban alley that runs next to the creek, behind the many small businesses and restaurants that front the central plaza. The improvements made incorporated a major historic downtown retail corridor with plazas, outdoor markets and restaurants on the south side of the creek, and a natural setting with trails and stream access on the north side. Flood control improvements were also made.

Goals for the Calle Guanajuato project include maintaining and improving access for commercial vehicles, additional landscaping and greenery, the replacement of stairways, additional pedestrian bridges, new public restrooms and active flood management.
