The Oregon Big Look

Big Look

Oregon is well known for its landmark statewide planning program created in 1973. Created by legislative action, this 10-member task force was charged with conducting a three year comprehensive review of Oregon's statewide planning program. Fregonese Associates was part of the consultant team to the Oregon Task Force on Land Use planning, or the “Big Look Task Force.” The task force and consultant team focused on the preservation of farm and forest lands, as well as land use issues specific to urbanized areas.

Our team provides day-to-day project management assistance and conducted land use and economic research for the task force. Additionally, Fregonese Associates is a liaison to stakeholder groups and is part of the design process for a statewide outreach effort starting early 2008.

After funding for consultant support for the task force was restored in late winter 2008, Fregonese Associates was asked to continue working with the task force.

"Fregonese Associates, Inc. won the award because of its strategic and technical expertise. The Contractor demonstrated expertise in every area of the discussion—strategic processes, policy analysis, land use and transportation planning, economic development, growth management, outreach strategies and polling, legal analysis, policy development, finance and governance. The Contractor also brought direct leadership in successful resolution of these sames issues in other U.S. regions and states."
